Anjouan B2B Gaming License & Recognition Certificate
A full Anjouan B2B licence and a recognition document are different approval routes. Anjouan's official licensing website describes a B2B licence for critical suppliers and keeps a separate Recognition Letter Register. If you are searching for an “Anjouan Recognition Certificate”, check the current instrument and its scope before treating it as a full licence. Official licence types; recognition register.
Full B2B licence or Recognition Letter: which route should you assess?
Assess a full B2B licence when you need Anjouan supplier authorisation in its own right. Assess recognition when you already hold a suitable authorisation elsewhere. Confirm eligibility and permitted services for your own company before you choose.
Operators need this check too. Section 14 of the licence conditions requires every Anjouan operator’s platform and content suppliers to hold an Anjouan B2B licence or recognition.
Question | Full Anjouan B2B licence | Recognition route |
|---|---|---|
What is being assessed? | The supplier's authorisation under Anjouan rules | Whether Anjouan accepts an authorisation you already hold, for a defined supply relationship |
Where should you look? | The official licence register and the issued licence | The Recognition Letter Register and the recognition instrument itself |
What is the scope question? | Which platform, software or technical services are authorised? | Which existing licence, entity and services are recognised? |
What should you not assume? | That supplier approval covers running a casino for players | That recognition creates a new, unrestricted operating licence |
What evidence settles it? | Current record, licence and conditions that match the contract | Current record, recognition document and a primary licence in good standing |
Anjouan Gaming described the recognition route in a June 2025 LinkedIn announcement as an option for suppliers already licensed elsewhere. That post is historical. It does not set out today's full eligibility list, fee schedule or application requirements.
Why the Certificate/Letter distinction matters
The title on a sales proposal is not enough to identify the instrument. Ask for the exact legal name of the approval, the recipient company, reference number, issuing body, validity period and approved activities. Match those details against the current public register.
The public register uses “Recognition Letter”; the current licence conditions say “recognition certificate”. Published sources do not say whether the two names mark the same instrument. Get this confirmed before you treat one term as the other.
Does your business need supplier approval or operator approval?
For Anjouan approval, supplying technology and contracting directly with players are different activities. Anjouan's published categories separate B2B suppliers from B2C operators. Licence Types.
Business activity | Assessment to request | Evidence to prepare |
|---|---|---|
Supply game content, an aggregation layer or platform technology | Whether the service falls within the B2B perimeter; full licence or recognition | Product description, existing authorisations and customer contracts |
Contract with players and control the gaming operation | B2C scope and operational responsibilities | Player terms, payment flows and domain list |
Supply software and also operate a consumer brand | Each activity and any combined approval | Separate activity map, contracts and licence conditions |
Provide marketing, payments or another adjacent service | A specific perimeter decision, not automatic classification | Exact service and regulated functions performed |
Some register entries carry a combined B2B/B2C label. That label does not mean every licence, or every fee, combines both categories. Check each activity against the issued instrument and its conditions, not against an “all-in-one” sales description.
If your plan includes a branded casino operated through another business, use the Anjouan white-label responsibility checklist before deciding which company needs which approval.
How do you verify a B2B licence or recognition document?
To verify an Anjouan B2B approval, check the legal entity in the correct register, then match the record against the document and the contract. A licence entry and a Recognition Letter entry are different pieces of evidence.
Find the contracting supplier in the licence register or the Recognition Letter Register.
For recognition, also check the underlying approval with its own issuer, and get the letter's scope and conditions.
Check the services in the draft contract against those approvals. Fix any mismatch in entity, status, validity or scope before onboarding.
Use the complete Anjouan licence verification workflow for company, number, domain and status checks.
What should the supplier onboarding file contain?
An Anjouan supplier onboarding file should tie the contracting entity to its approved services and current authorisation. This is a procurement checklist; it does not replace the regulator's application forms.
File item | Decision it supports | Stop condition |
|---|---|---|
Legal-entity and group chart | Who supplies and accepts liability? | Contract uses an unexplained affiliate |
Licence or recognition document | What has actually been approved? | Scope is missing or inconsistent |
Dated registry evidence | What did the public record show? | Status and expiry do not match |
Product and integration map | What will be supplied to the operator? | A material function falls outside the reviewed scope |
Change-notification clause | How will the operator learn of a suspension or renewal issue? | No obligation to report approval changes |
Market and subcontractor schedule | Where and through whom will services be supplied? | Unreviewed territories or material subcontractors |
Anjouan's current licence conditions also cover the commercial rationale of B2B contracts and some cross-border financial flows. Have counsel check how those provisions apply to your model. A “no substance” sales claim does not replace that check.
How should you compare the cost of the two routes?
Compare Anjouan full B2B and recognition costs using dated quotes for the same service scope and period. The official fee schedule lists €17,828 for full B2B issuance and €17,828 for annual renewal, and no recognition fee. Official fees.
A like-for-like quote separates authority charges, adviser fees, corporate work, testing, renewal and change requests. It also states what happens to fees if an application fails. Older recognition prices found online are not a current offer. On the recognition route, count the running cost of your existing overseas licence as well.
For an operator (B2C) application, the Anjouan gaming license requirements page covers supporting documents, costs and MGL's application services.
Supplier scenarios: what changes the route?
A supplier with an existing foreign approval starts from a different place than a new supplier with none. In neither case is the outcome automatic.
Illustrative situation | Route to assess | Evidence that changes the outcome |
|---|---|---|
A game studio already holds a foreign supplier licence; the same legal entity will supply the Anjouan operator | Recognition first, subject to current eligibility; full B2B if recognition is unavailable or insufficient | Current foreign licence, exact recognised services and the Anjouan instrument |
A new platform company has no existing supplier authorisation | Full B2B perimeter and application assessment | Description of critical functions, corporate/control evidence and proposed contracts |
A group has a licensed studio, but an unlicensed affiliate will sign and supply | Do not assume group-wide recognition | Confirmation that the contracting supplier itself is covered, or a revised lawful structure |
For a recognised supplier, put a clause in the contract that requires notice of expiry, suspension, scope changes and replacement of the underlying licence. This is a contract control we recommend, not a notice period set by law. Name one person to recheck both approvals when any of these happens.
A supplier approval does not decide whether the operator may serve a country. Check each market with the Anjouan target-market review framework.
Discuss the supplier route with MGL
Send MGL your service description, contracting entity, existing licences and the operators you plan to supply. We will go through the approval route and the open questions with you. Request a B2B licensing discussion. We work within an agreed scope; the regulator and your counterparties make their own approval decisions.
