Many entrepreneurs come to us with a single question: how to start a crypto online casino.
People are going crazy about crypto due to its smart, fact, and absolutely transparent tool. But at the same time, regulators all over the world consider crypto as a very suspicious thing and they’re not in a hurry to create a friendly environment for this, or even to regulate it in any way.
Does this mean a crypto casino is essentially doomed to operate in a gray area right away?
Not at all.
You can run your crypto-based iGaming idea legally and worldwide. That’s what we did for our client from Spain who planned to target the LatAm market.
About the Client
Type: B2C
Geography: UK (Gibraltar) / Spain (2 UBOs)
Target market: LATAM
What the Client Needed
One of our clients worked on launching a new crypto-friendly iGaming brand. They have had a great experience in iGaming, being previously CTO at licensed operators in Portugal.
The unusual part is that the project involved two UBOs: one from Gibraltar and another from Spain. Given their experience on the Portuguese market, they planned to target the LatAm market.
We have found a way to make this crypto project fully legal, and set up a company in Costa Rica, obtaining an Anjouan license. As usual, our client needed to get licensed as fast as possible.
How did we do that?
To meet the deadline, we got to work immediately:
- Provided step-by-step checklists and questionnaires for both founders from Gibraltar and Spain.
- Clarified requirements for RNG, provider agreements, and domain ownership.
- Helped with domain proof, aggregator contracts, and UBO declarations.
- Supported ID checks, bank setup, and compliance paperwork.
But even with an average 30 minutes of answering time from our side, we faced a few roadblocks that could’ve delayed everything.
First, Anjouan made a new rule: content providers now needed B2B approval. Next, Costa Rica corporate papers took longer than expected. Finally, the domain proof got tricky because of WhoIs privacy protection.
Did we let these problems win? No chance.
We brilliantly passed these hurdles by clarifying regulatory gray areas like server location, who controls the data, and how to prove domain ownership. We pushed the Costa Rica agents to speed up the company setup and worked directly with providers to fix their contracts for Anjouan’s new rule.
Results that Matter
As a result, all documents were accepted by mid-September 2025. The license is now at final review, wrapping up a 6–7 week process. This is x2 faster than the time operators usually wait to obtain an Anjouan license.
We were not just fast and accurate; the MGL team demonstrated the responsiveness and transparency of the process. Our clients were completely stunned by it, so they said our service was really “exceptional” and made a complicated launch reliable and easy. As we always do.
